Unshod Quills was born on June 1, 2011.
Unshod Quills is a quarterly literary and arts journal born to showcase the efforts of writers and artists huddled together against the lonely effort of creation. All contributions to Unshod Quills are based on topics assigned by the editors, and the art and writing on the website are connected by those themes.
Praise for Unshod Quills
Unshod Quills is a dynamic powerhouse that is… one of the best poetry consortiums in the literary world. Hunter Thompson would have called (Editor Dena Rash Guzman) a snow leopard at the peak of the Himalayas, a distinction he graces those who can do at least one thing better than anyone else in the world…
Unshod Quills was founded by editor Dena Rash Guzman, a Las Vegas born poet who now lives on a farm near Portland, Oregon.
Dena Rash Guzman has a coeditor. She is Wendy Ellis, an artist & sometime writer living with her family in south central PA.
Arts Editor Holly Hinkle is an artist, poet, and book arts enthusiast. She lives in Portland, OR.
