On the theme of  How We Fall Out of Love

Landlocked

it’s like choking in June
orchards and snowfall:

I want to speak
of your clavicles, how
sharp and jutted
they seem at skin, or

speak to them and ask
if or if once they
cinched ’round your throat
to pin down words
so they never fell on
my never-deaf ears.

Author Biography
